Wine 2.0 and the WinePod Personal Winery
Last week, our Provina sales team made the 5-hour flight to the East Coast and New York City’s Webster Hall, where we showcased the WinePod personal winery at Wine 2.0 2008. The crowd was large—around 1,100 attendees who came to see the latest in wine technology . . . but probably more likely, came to taste the more than 100 wines from wineries across the country. We were thrilled to meet so many of our New York area WinePod clients, and thank them for making the effort to join us for the event.
We had the WinePod on stage with Wine Library TV star Gary Vaynerchuk who hosted the event. Gary will soon (this week) post his Wine 2.0 podcast, which was produced live during the event.
If you haven’t heard of Gary, you should check him out. He’s a pretty interesting character. Here’s a description from his site:
With his unconventional, often irreverent commentary on wine, Gary has attracted a cult-like following of more than 80,000 viewers a day. In the name of “expanding one’s palate”, Gary convinced Conan O’Brien to lick salted rocks and shared samples of dirt and grass with Ellen Degeneres. He routinely pans popular wines (even ones sold by Wine Library). He interrupts his webcasts with rants about his beloved New York Jets. This is not your typical wine expert.
We also got a visit from Anthony Dias Blue, one of the most influential wine, food and lifestyle personalities in the United States. Anthony is the Executive Director of the San Francisco International Wine Competition, the largest and most influential wine judging event in the United States. Read more about Anthony’s lifestyle empire here.
Finally, the WinePod was recently featured on CNET, as they were also at Wine 2.0 and took some time out to speak with Greg Snell (our WinePod founder and CEO). Click here to watch the video.
